著者の岩崎量示は埼玉県出身。2005年に北海道・糠平（現在のぬかびら源泉郷）に移り住み、以来、タウシュベツ川橋梁の記録を続けてきました。撮り始めてから15年となる2020年。節目の年に合わせて刊行を開始したのが『タウシュベツ日誌』シリーズです。写真展や写真集で発表を続けてきた岩崎が、膨大な数に上る写真ストックのさらなる発表の場を求めて創刊したものです。

タウシュベツ川橋梁は、北海道の大雪山国立公園に残るコンクリートアーチ橋です。この橋は、1937年に鉄道橋として建設されました。現在は1年のうちに水没と出現とを繰り返しながら崩落へと向かっています。時期によっては水面下に沈んで見えないことから、また、近い将来の崩落で失われることが予想されることから、「幻の橋」の別名を持ちます。

刊行を再開してから2作目となる本作には、2025年3月から2025年8月までの半年間のタウシュベツ川橋梁を収録しました。この期間、壁面の大きな崩落はなく、橋は静かにその姿を保ち続けていました。劇的な変化がなかったことそれ自体が、崩壊へ向かう橋の記録においてはひとつの貴重な記録です。いつ失われてもおかしくない橋が、もう半年、そこに在り続けたということ。その時間を本作に収めています。

The author, Ryoji Iwasaki, hails from Saitama Prefecture. In 2005, he relocated to Nukabira in Hokkaido, now known as Nukabira Gensenkyo. Since then, he has consistently documented the Taushubetsu Bridge. 2020 marked 15 years since he began capturing its essence, which coincided with the launch of the "Taushubetsu Journal" series. Iwasaki, who has showcased his work through photo exhibitions and photo books, established this series to unveil an even greater portion of his vast photo collection.

The Taushubetsu Bridge is a concrete arch bridge nestled within the Daisetsuzan National Park in Hokkaido. This bridge was constructed in 1937 as a railway bridge. Currently, it undergoes a cycle of submersion and re-emergence throughout the year, steadily heading towards its eventual collapse. Due to times when it is submerged and invisible beneath the water, and the anticipated collapse in the near future, it has earned the moniker "The Phantom Bridge."

This volume, the second since the series resumed publication, covers the Taushubetsu Bridge from March to August 2025. During this period, no major collapse of the bridge walls occurred, and the bridge quietly maintained its form. In the record of a structure heading toward its eventual collapse, the absence of dramatic change is itself a significant document. The bridge, which could be lost at any moment, stood for another half year. This volume captures that time.
